Costa Rica Residency Types
Rentist Residency
This kind of temporary Costa Rica Residency is based on receiving a specific monthly income in a permanent, stable, and irrevocable manner. Presently, the required minimum amount with the new Costa Rica Immigration Law is USD 2,500.00 monthly income for one applicant and with the same amount, the applicant can extend the benefits of the Costa Rica Residency to the spouse and children. OR via a deposit of USD 60,000.00 deposit in an approved Costa Rican or international bank.
Other important conditions include:
- Upon approval of the Costa Rica Rentista Residency, the resident may get involved in business activities but cannot be hired as an employee.
- The income may come from a local or foreign bank.
